| The Household Tinder Box Candle Holder is 5" high by 5" wide. Prior to the 1830 era if your fire went out you would have to borrow some from your neighbor or use a tinder box to restart it. A spark from flint and steel falling on charred linen and tow in the box would start a fire. Then you could light the candle and squash out the flame in the box. Now you are ready to light the candles and fire in your home from your lit candle. The Tinder Box base includes flint, steel, charred linen, tow, and squasher for snuffing out the fire. |
